In 1920, in an orthodox Hindu home, a boy named Venkateswami Gupta was born. Raised to follow tradition and trained to become a lawyer, his future seemed carefully planned.
As a young man, he drifted into destructive habits and entered the money-lending business. One day, his father’s warning deeply convicted him and became the turning point of his life.
In 1937, he encountered Jesus Christ and experienced a complete transformation. Burdened for the spiritual condition of India, he dedicated his life to raising leaders who would carry the Gospel to villages and unreached communities.
From that God-given vision, Hindustan Bible Institute was born — a mission that continues to impact generations through biblical education and ministry training.
